Questions, answered.
Before the journey begins.
Clear, practical guidance for workers and businesses. Worker answers summarize the Independent Contractor Agreement; business answers explain the Kashleer staffing model.
01Am I an employee of Kashleer?+
No. The agreement is for independent-contractor services and does not create employment, partnership, agency or an entitlement to employee benefits. You are responsible for maintaining the independent-business or self-employed status required in your country.
02What do I need before accepting a project?+
Normally: a destination-valid driving licence, a passport valid for at least eight months after departure, a standard international credit card in your name, sufficient professional language ability, medical fitness, and suitable dark clothing with closed slip-resistant footwear. A project may add requirements.
03How is each assignment confirmed?+
Every assignment is offered separately through a written Project Confirmation. It states the country, client or winery, expected dates, daily rate, accommodation, transport plan, approved departure point, health stipend and special requirements. You choose whether to accept it.
04How are working days and daily pay calculated?+
The project-specific daily rate applies to a day when you attend and perform approved services, whether that day involves one hour or ten. Unless approved in writing, flight days, waiting days, personal days, sightseeing days, Saturdays and other non-working days are unpaid.
05Do I work on Saturdays?+
You are not required or scheduled to work on Saturdays. No daily rate applies unless a project-specific written agreement says otherwise. The agreement allows a Saturday allowance of up to €20 for each Saturday spent at the project location.
06When and how am I paid?+
Compensation is calculated in euros. Kashleer begins processing on the 10th of each month, and cross-border transfers may arrive from the 10th through the 15th. Payment is primarily through Airwallex to an approved bank account, Wise, Revolut or Payoneer account. You must verify your payment details.
07Which expenses are reimbursed?+
Only expenses covered by the agreement or approved in writing, supported by a valid receipt or invoice. The agreement includes up to €15 per calendar month for a project-required SIM/eSIM. Personal upgrades, entertainment, clothing, footwear, private travel, unapproved food and avoidable penalties are normally personal costs.
08Does Kashleer provide insurance?+
Kashleer does not buy or administer insurance for you. The Project Confirmation states a Health & Wellness Stipend intended to help you obtain your own health and life insurance. You remain responsible for adequate coverage during work, travel and driving.
09What travel and accommodation support is provided?+
The Project Confirmation explains whether Kashleer arranges or pays for flights, the approved origin, accommodation and local transport. Unless confirmed otherwise, arranged flights include carry-on trolley baggage only. Personal route changes, upgrades, extra baggage or an extended stay need prior written approval or are your cost.
10What are my responsibilities if I use a rental vehicle?+
Only an authorized driver may drive. You must read the rental terms, use your standard credit card for any required deposit, photograph the vehicle at collection, retain fuel receipts and report incidents immediately. Traffic and parking fines, unauthorized use, negligent damage and personal upgrades are your responsibility.
11Who handles taxes, permits and work authorization?+
You do. You are responsible for independent-business registration, income tax, social-security obligations, visas, work permission and any A1 or equivalent cross-border document. Kashleer may provide available project paperwork but does not guarantee authorization. Independent legal and tax advice is recommended.
12What is Form W-8BEN and when is it needed?+
Non-U.S. contractors must provide Kashleer with a valid signed IRS Form W-8BEN before the first payment is processed. It is generally valid through the last day of the third calendar year after signing unless circumstances change. Obtain the current form from the official IRS website and send it to Kashleer—not to the IRS.
13Does Kashleer use location or reporting data?+
During working hours, the designated app may collect work-related location data for dispatch, safety, coordination and performance verification. You may also need to upload reports, photographs, receipts and incident information. EU personal data must be handled for the stated legitimate purposes under applicable data-protection law.
14What conduct and confidentiality rules apply?+
Professional, respectful and safe conduct is required. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited during work and before driving. Client concerns go to Kashleer management. Non-public client, pricing, schedule, procedure, photo and application information is confidential, and project work product belongs to Kashleer or the client where legally permitted.
15Can I work directly with a client introduced by Kashleer?+
Not without prior written approval. During the agreement and for nine months after termination, the contract restricts soliciting or accepting substantially similar work from a specific client or winery introduced by Kashleer in a country where you performed services, subject to applicable law.
16What if I need to cancel or leave a project?+
Notify Kashleer in writing as early as possible and, where practicable, at least 14 days before the flight. If non-refundable costs have already been purchased, you may be responsible for reasonable documented losses. Serious misconduct, safety violations, repeated absence, dishonesty or confidentiality breaches can lead to immediate removal.
17Which language and law control the agreement?+
Only the signed English agreement is legally controlling; translations are for convenience. The agreement selects Delaware law and binding ICC arbitration before one arbitrator in New York, conducted in English. Seek independent legal advice before signing.
